GET READY FOR YOUR PODCAST
Before we get started, I wanted to let you know why I’ve decided to dip my toe into the world of podcasting.
It’s one of the fastest-growing media broadcast areas with iTunes subscriptions recently topping one billion. There is a great article here on the growing popularity of podcasts. Podcast listeners are highly sought after because they tend, and this is from the article, to be “well-educated, social sharers who find ways to consume commercial-free media.”
Let’s hope so!
A couple of general thoughts…
THE KEY TOPIC OF THE PODCAST
HOW DO WE RECORD IT?
If you have a microphone (& don’t worry – most people don’t), that’s great. If not, a headset is usually better. If you don’t have an external microphone, we’ll run a quick test beforehand to make sure the audio quality is good.
1. INTRODUCTION - 10 MINS
We want to you to get the most exposure out of your podcast experience with us, so here’s the epidsode format. In the first section, I’ll introduce the show, briefly cover your bio details and talk about how we know each other and why we’re interviewing you.
We’ll start with an easy ice-breaker question and before moving onto the next section. This is completely unscripted and we’ll move on when there is a natural break in the conversation.
2. YOUR CAREER HIGHS & SPECIALIST SUBJECT - 10 MINS
Listeners will want to hear about how you got to where you are today – the lows just as much as the highs. You may want to focus on a specific learning experience, and at the bottom of this page, there is a short questionnaire to fill out to make sure I’m prepared and can guide you from point to point without you having to worry about remembering everything or refer to notes.
3. YOUR CURRENT PROJECTS & FUTURE GOALS - 10 MINS
We’ll complete the main part of interview by talking about your current projects, anything you would like to promote and or any signficant events coming up in your business or personal life.
4. CLOSING THOUGHTS - 10 MINS
We’ll wrap up the interview with a couple of questions I plan to ask everyone. Again, I’d like this to feel unscripted but the questions are likely to ask you for inspirational thoughts and goals. Again, just give me a clue in the form below and I’ll take it from there.
I’ll close by reminding people about where they can read the episode notes and how to subscribe.
