[T]his week I’ve done some serious adulting. Yes, I’ve finally faced up to getting some SEO work done on my site. Now, I’m not an expert in the SEO department, so I’ve been sharing everything I know over in my private Facebook group (come join us here). More importantly, I know when it’s time to get the experts in. One of the highlights of my week was working with Corina Darnborough, from UK-based SEO company, Pixifire. I had my first site evaluation from an SEO point of view. So much room for improvement. She’s perfect for me, because she works with other digital online stores.
But for all you photographers, creatives, designers and makers, I got my good friend, Corey Potter from Fuel Your Photos to take over my Facebook group for a couple of days and he has gone above and beyond the call of duty. Definitely hop over to his site to sign up for ALL his emails. You will want them – trust me on this. And, if you’re a photographer or creative who showcases your work through images, then most definitely join his Facebook group, RIGHT HERE.
He has been kind enough to share some amazing content with us this week. Let’s start with this very informative video about choosing keywords. Seriously, it’s great.
So you’ve got some keywords in mind, but where to put them? At this stage, it’s easy to have a bit of a freak out. How do I edit my meta-description? What is H1? This second video from Corey makes getting started with crafting your website structure and text sound easy.
Firstly, here’s the quick cut-out-and-keep guide.
But of course, we have another killer video, which explains in details just where you need to put those keywords to get the best results.
I’d love to hear how you’re doing with SEO. Dipping a toe in or really getting stuck in? If you are just getting started, you might like to consider just doing 5 Easy Things to Get Noticed by Google.
